The First National Conference on Quality in Healthcare – 1995

The First National Conference on Quality in Healthcare was held on November 26–28, 1995. Prof. Dr. Ali Abdel Fattah, Minister of Health at the time, and Dr. Hassan El-Kalla, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health, opened the conference.

The conference is considered a pioneering effort by the Ministry of Health to improve the quality of healthcare services in Egypt.
To achieve this goal, the conference emphasized raising public awareness about the concept of Quality Management, which is regarded as a cornerstone for improving clinical performance to meet community needs and expectations.

Professional organizations, Donabedian, and 33 experts from Arab and foreign countries participated in the conference by presenting their experiences, enriching the discussions and enhancing the exchange of knowledge.

The Second National Conference on Quality in Healthcare 1999

The Minister of Health and Population at the time, Prof. Dr. Ismail Salam, and Prof. Dr. Awad Tag El-Din, Vice President of Ain Shams University, participated as representatives.

A total of 103 researchers and experts contributed with their presentations. The speakers included 59 Egyptians and 16 from Arab and foreign countries.

Around 800 participants attended the opening ceremony, and more than 550 took part in the conference sessions.
